Friend or Foe?

My son was allowed to watch one hour of television each night after we had read together. For awhile, every single night it was game shows. Game shows, Gene Rayburn and that silly Match Game; oh how I despised that show!
I was happy when he found a new game show to watch that didn't put me to sleep nor did it make me cringe. This new game show was called Friend or Foe, have you seen it or heard of it? I'm not even sure that it's still on-air as that game show phase has passed. Still, it was a pretty fun show.
Six contestants were given a small bank of money and paired with one of those other contestants. The host Kennedy, asked multiple choice questions of them for cash and then it was off to the Trust Box with their bank of money. Kennedy then divulged each contestants "dirty little secrets" from real life such as " Shelly turned her back on her family and instead went to Hawaii with friends" or something of that nature. Just enough to plant that seed of skepticism..

In the Trust Box, each player had to convince the other player to vote "Friend" for one another instead of Foe. If each contestant in the pair voted "Friend", they got to split the bank of cash. If each contestant voted "Foe", they lost all the money. If one player voted "Foe" and the other voted "Friend" (okay this is me every time), the Foe took all the cash. This was all done under the table with a hidden button while you were facing your partner, looking them in the eye.
You had to "read" the other person to gauge how they would vote. You had to trust in this game.

We always got really upset when we saw how people were betrayed. Some people were simply in it for the money and they made that perfectly clear as the shrugged off their partners shock, walking away with their pot of gold. Still others cried after being betrayed, never suspecting their partner was cold and calculating. It was always heartwarming to see two "Friends" of course.

It was the only game show I ever liked , so they took it off air. I took it personally of course, sort of like they voted "Foe" while I voted "Friend".

I don't think I've ever seen this one. I loved, I mean, loved games shows as a kid.

Haven't heard of it, but things have been quiet around my house, TV-wise, since the girls left for college. They'll be home in a couple of days, though, so I'm sure the Boob Toob will rumble to life once again!
